The annual Pick The Winners contest is open to all!  Details are on Facebook - winners get an entry into this year's race, a winner's jersey from Eclipse Cycling, and a pint glass!  Add to that the *free fun* that happens every year at Ithaca and it just doesn't get any better than this.

Plans for 2014

It's official - plans are IN THE WORKS for 2014 already.  In the race promotion 'biz you have to be on the ball 365 days a year.  Don't worry, I took 5 days off this year to let my body catch up to my mind after the 2013 event rocked the Michigan 'cx scene with 202 registered racers.  However, I'm already back at recruiting sponsors for next year's race and have a few confirmations already.

Next year the race is on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 (first Saturday after Labor day) and it'll be another one for the books.

A BIG thank you goes out to all of the volunteers, Team Sandbag, the City of Ithaca, MY FAMILY, Tailwind Racing, Bruce and Shaun (USAC officials), and each and every racer that supports the Ithaca GP.  I can honestly say it takes a village to put this race on, and I truly appreciate the support throughout the year.

Keep watch to this site and the Facebook page for updates throughout the year.  Your feedback on the survey was greatly appreciated and changes will be made based on your thoughts!

Spy Photos and Registration

Day-of registration will open around 8:00 a.m. tomorrow and closes 30 minutes prior to the category starting times.  Please don't forget your USAC license, if you have one, and please register for the 'cx category as stated on your license.

T-shirts will be available ($10) as well as pint glasses ($5).  First come first served!

There IS day-of registration at the Ithaca GP presented by ZEVLIN!

Cost is $30 for all non-junior categories (juniors are $5).

You are required to have an annual USAC license WITH your current cyclocross category listed...  If you do not hold an annual license you will be required to purchase a one-day license ($10) and will race as a category 5 (men) or category 4 (women).

Call-up order for pre-registered racers!

Call ups will be done in order of pre-registration followed by day-of registration.  Please see this Google Document for your spot!

ALL race categories on race day are $30 with the exception of juniors (only $5).  Race a second event on the day (Singlespeed maybe?) for only $10!

With the move to category-based racing from the old classifications of A's, B's, and C's, the races are now limited based on what it says on your USAC license!

Therefore, if you need to upgrade or downgrade to register in your desired race category, GET ON IT SOON!  You can request these category changes through www.USACYCLING.org when you sign into your account.

2013 Ithaca GP Preview Map!

ONE MONTH TO GO!

Imagine what you'll be doing exactly one month from now...

It's 10:00 a.m. on 8/7 and in 31 days the Cat 4 men will hear the gun for the FIFTH Ithaca Grand Prix of Cyclocross p/b Zevlin.

Will you be on that start line?  Will you be watching on the sidelines?  Will you still be sipping coffee on your drive up US127 for a later start time?  Or will you be missing the whole thing for one reason or another?

Registration is still live and there are only 22 pre-registration bonus spots remaining (a $15 Mountain Khakis gift card)!  Remember, if you're a Cat 4/5 or Elite women you'll be competing for $50 gift cards to each of the top five finishers anyway - so why not help the cause a bit?

So get your upgrades if necessary, and REGISTER while you still can!  Don't forget to pre-order a pint glass...that option will be removed from the pre-reg page on August 24.

This edition of the Ithaca GP will be the opening event for the Tailwind Cyclocross series!  Your points will count in the Tailwind cyclocross series points - but the race will still be the race you know and love!  (With chip timing!)
